“Carefully” é uma música do sétimo álbum de estúdio de Demi Lovato, Dancing With the Devil: The Art of Starting Over, lançado em abril de 2021 após sua série Docu chamada ‘Dancing with the Devil’. O álbum vai explorar os aspectos que levaram a artista à uma overdose quase fatal em 2018 e seu “despertar” daquela situação. “Ele realmente segue o curso da minha vida e o camino que percorreu nos últimos anos”, revelou Demi Lovato de 28 anos. O novo álbum, segundo a cantora, contará com colaborações de “três mulheres diferentes e incríveis”.
O filme Dancing With the Devil dividido em quatro partes, o documentário aborda justamente o período difícil enfrentado por Lovato e o seu caminho para voltar a trabalhar. Ela estava afastada da música desde seu último trabalho Tell Me You Love Me, de 2017, e seu caso de overdose, ocorrido em 2018.
Sobre o filme, ela refletiu: “Eu derramei meu coração e minha alma. Eu queria que meus fãs recebessem os relatos em primeira mão não apenas de mim, mas das pessoas que estavam lá. Eu tive muito a dizer nos últimos dois anos, querendo esclarecer o que aconteceu“.
